Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, creative, and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As the second-in-command in the kitchen, the Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality food preparation, and maintaining health and safety standards. This role is ideal for a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading and mentoring kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Executive Chef in planning and directing food preparation and kitchen operations.

Ensure food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control meet established standards.

Maintain compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.

Train and mentor line cooks and other kitchen staff.

Help manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize food waste.

Monitor and manage kitchen staff schedules and labor costs.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or relevant role in a high-volume kitchen.

In-depth knowledge of culinary trends, techniques, and best practices.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen sanitation standards.

Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced environment.
