SUMMARY OF JOB:
This position requires the individual to instruct gymnastics to gymnasts in our Boys Competitive Program, USAG Levels 4-10 and our Boys Pre Team. After initial training, you will have little or light supervision, but success will be recognized through the progress of the students. Help is available anytime from our Boys Team Manager. The most important aspects are developing a rapport with students and their parents, as well as ensuring that every child is challenged, yet feels successful in practice. Individuals who are both goal oriented and energetic are best suited for this position. Individual must exhibit patience, maintain a positive attitude and show energy and enthusiasm.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching gymnastics techniques and skills to gymnasts
Keeping up to date with new teaching methods & class requirements/expectations (we pay for educational opportunities such as National/Regional/State congress)
Challenging every child in each practice taught through small goals.
Keeping in mind that while happy, moving children is a definite requirement, each child being challenged with something in each practice is also a must!
Teaching sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to ones team
Teaching self-motivation through small goal setting
Monitoring students attendance, performance and personal conduct
Keeping up to date with new events
Attending Team events with gymnasts & families
Attending/coaching at USAG sanctioned meets
Responding to student injuries with approved first aid techniques
Perform general office administration including, but not limited to: student attendance records
Maintenance/appearance of facility including but not limited to keeping floor areas clean, keeping windows clean and maintaining specific assigned cleaning task
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, COMPENTENCIES/SKILLS REQUIRED:
USAG Certified preferred (we pay to renew all certifications required)
Competitive gymnastics experience

Interacts well with children/teens/adults
