Reeder Trausch Marines service advisors are a key member of the service department, acting as
the main point of contact between customers and the service team. It is the service writer's
responsibility to provide exceptional customer service, accurately document service requests,
and ensure customers' boating needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. Service writers
are responsible for scheduling service appointments, preparing ROs, checking customers in and
out, and coordinating with techs and parts departments to ensure a seamless workflow. In
addition, service writers must also be knowledgeable on boat repairs, maintenance, and
estimating cost.
Responsibilities
● Interact with customers throughout the entire write up process, listen to their service needs, and provide accurate information regarding repair & maintenance work on their boats
● Create and manage detailed ROs, including the scope of work, working with parts department for required parts, estimated labor cost, and with Warranty Clerk for any covered repairs.
● Answer incoming and outgoing calls to customers
● Schedule & coordinate appointments with customers, ensuring efficient workflow and minimal downtime for technicians
Monitor progress of repairs and update customers of any changes in cost or timeline
● Promote additional services and products, such as maintenance or accessories, based on customers needs/wants.
● Assist the Service Manager to ensure the Service Dept runs smoothly & coordinates with Parts, Sales, and Yard.
