I own a small manufacturing and e-commerce business in Hagerstown, Indiana. I bought the business about a year ago, and I'm looking for someone who can help me run it. The role will be a combination of personal assistant, general manager and sales. I'm essentially looking for someone who can be a surrogate me.

The company has ten employees. Each of these employees has specific role such as sales, manufacturing or purchasing. This means when issues come up, there is no one to handle them but me. I need someone to help put out fires as they arise and complete loosely defined projects with little guidance.

There will be no "typical day" in this role. You could be taking my car to get a headlight fixed, interviewing machinists for a job opening, or going to China to find new suppliers.

This position is unique because you're going to be actually assisting in running a small business. I'm looking for a motivated, hard working and organized person who can think on their feet and can handle stressful situations. You will also need to be comfortable working in chaotic environments and making decisions with minimal guidance or feedback.

This job will require a degree from a 4 year university (no associates degrees) and the ability to commute to Hagerstown, Indiana 3 days per week. Hagerstown is 1 hour from Indianapolis and 1 hour from Dayton. You will be able to work from home two days a week.

Starting salary will be modest ($45,000) and will not have any benefits. This will rise over time as you take on new responsibility. You will be in charge of finding and selecting a good health insurance policy for the company in 1-2 years.
