The Parkview Health Administration Summer Clinical Internship allows the student to create a clinical and personal connection to PHH and Parkview Health. This internship also increases the odds of hiring for a permanent role post-graduation. This position was created to be a great support to our department and this community hospital. Two specific projects will be assigned to these internship roles, which include clinical documentation and reducing workplace violence.The specific skillsets that would be ideal for this intern to possess would be a clinical or pre-med education background. This internship rotation will be 12-hour days. This will include experience in most clinical areas, including days and evenings. The planned work week to be 36-40hrs per week. The specific programs or areas of study that best fit this internship include a Nursing or Pre-Med Degree program, with some clinical background preferred.Must meet one of the following requirements current CNA EMT or Paramedic certification or must take Parkviews Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire 2 year’s experience in a healthcare related field training time will be determined based on experience currently enrolled in nursing school having completed first clinical rotations if hired prior to 12/3/18 two (2) years military medical experience will be accepted. Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire. CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred or must have the equivalent of health care experience and education two (2) years previous experience in a nursing support role OR a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation on an extended care or inpatient nursing unit (nursing school transcripts required). Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). If assigned to the Parkview Randallia Family Birthing Center must be bonded as a notary public within 6 months of hire. Previous experience is preferred in direct patient care through work and/or school program. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must have a working knowledge of computer skills and applications. Demonstrates ability to critically think. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds.
