Position SummaryThe Revenue Cycle Management Supervisor will supervise and lead a team of Billing Specialists and ensure that the goals and metrics set by the department are followed while still providing high quality work and customer service. The Medical Billing Supervisor will also serve as an expert on billing procedures and policies. Previous experience leading a small team is required.Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
Supervises day to day activities of Revenue Cycle Team members at Ankeny office
Leads, develops and trains new employees for onboarding and acts as a resource for Revenue Cycle Team
Provides leadership structure to leads and will be their direct report
Completes weekly timecards for Revenue Cycle Team
Performs interviews for new Revenue Cycle Team members
Works effectively interdepartmentally as liaison between Revenue Cycle team and other departments
Monitors and updates SOP's for the department on as needed basis
Conducts monthly 1:1's with leads and team members
Posts accounts receivable payments per agency remittance advices
Resolves valid or authorized adjustments with balancing entries in order to reconcile A/R payments
Validates accuracy of system posted A/R payments
Backs up claims denial team as needed
Reviews quality assurance of all referrals or updated clients from assigned state or local agencies
Makes outbound & inbound calls, emails to assigned state or local agencies with the purpose of securing correct information regarding new referrals, updated clients, and billings
Required Skills and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of work-related experience in healthcare related field, i.e., healthcare billing institutional and professional claims, patient registration, and/or patient access, or equivalent experience
Previous experience supervising small team
Demonstrated success in healthcare accounts receivable experience
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Strong ability to work with team members across multiple departments
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Must have a wired internet connection using an ethernet port. Broadband internet wired to the home is required - Cable Modem/service or Fiber Optic. No Satellite, 4/5G, or DSL circuits
Must have a quiet workspace that is free from distraction
Preferred Skills and Experience
Associate's or Bachelor's or current pursuit of Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, medical administrative assistance, or healthcare finance
AAHAM certification
Previous experience with electronic claims, such as electronic 835/837 claim and remit files, Zirmed, and/or secure payer web portals
Previous experience training team members in Healthcare Revenue Cycle best practices in the following areas: billing; claims rejections; denials and appeals
