Job Details
What you will be doing: Purchasing of all machined parts Reading blueprints and discussing technical aspects Experience with existing routings, fixtures, tooling, and any other aid to offer our outside suppliers Negotiate pricing, deliveries, and possible rework or scrap due to errors Work with all areas to reduce manufacturing costs and shorten delivery on machined parts Update machine shop routings per engineering change orders
What you will need: A high school diploma with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience preferred; 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred 2 or more years experience in purchasing environment preferred Some exposure to programming and mathematics skills preferred Must be knowledgeable in numerical control technology and equipment Ability to read blueprints, skilled in mathematics and computer literate
