Job Title: Machinist - Direct HireJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Machinist to operate and set up CNC mill and lathe machines. In this role, you will be responsible for managing an average of 2-5 changeovers per day (short runs), and holding tolerances of +/- .005. Additionally, you will perform basic maintenance on the machines and maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread-chasing.Responsibilities

Operate and set up CNC mill and lathe machines.

Manage an average of 2-5 changeovers per day (short runs).

Hold tolerances of +/- .005.

Perform basic maintenance on the machines.

Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting operations, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread-chasing.

Essential Skills

Ability to operate CNC mills or lathes.

Proficient computer and technical skills.

Ability to read blueprints.

2+ years of experience in setting up and operating CNC machines.

Experience and knowledge in setting up and editing programs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

The full benefits package is provided through a partnership with SMART Workers Local 263.Work EnvironmentThis is a union shop with a total of 110 employees. The second shift includes around 5 people, and you will work on a small team with the ability to work independently. The facility is non-climate controlled and manufactures machines that produce ductwork for clients worldwide. Working hours are Monday-Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with additional hours available until 3:00 a.m. Saturday hours are from noon to 6:00 p.m. with a 4-hour minimum commitment.
