Parts Counter Specialist, RentalReq No.2019-3161CategoryWarehouse/PartsLocationUS-IA-Cedar RapidsTypeRegular Full-TimeUnion or Non-UnionNon-UnionDivisionRentalCompanyAltorfer Inc Working Hours/Days7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday (with some Saturdays)Basic DutiesAssist walk-in and phone customers with sales and rental equipment needs.Complete required paperwork and computer data entry of rental contracts and billings, ordering, stocking and selling of supply items.Will ship and receive freight with basic forklift.Operate a basic forklift and pallet jack to pick or move inventory when needed.Responsible for keeping record of parts inventory.Use computer parts books system to look up certain parts and process orders as they come in.Other duties as assignedQualificationsPrevious warehouse experience required. A minimum of 2 years previous experience in parts, inventory, heavy construction equipment experience required.Basic knowledge as well and understanding of the core parts operations neededMust be a self-starter with good time management, planning, and organizational skills with a commitment to detail.Must have a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.Previous forklift and pallet jack experience neededExcellent communication skills (written, e-mail, and verbal) are necessary.Must be able to handle general math calculations on money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.Able to lift 75 lbs, climb ladders and stairs on a daily basis.Must be able to work with minimal supervision.High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Must have a valid driver's license (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate)Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsThis position works in both office and warehouse environments. May, on a continuous basis sit at a desk for long periods of time, answer phone calls and write or use a keyboard to communicate through email. May on a continuous basis, walk, bend and lift up to 75 pounds. The wearing of approved safety equipment (i.e. safety glasses with side shields and steel toe footwear) is required. Noise level in the office is usually low and the noise level in the warehouse may range from low to moderate. Must be flexible during peak season working overtime as needed.
