PRINCIPAL DUTIESProvide secretarial services to the principal and staff.Establish and maintain files for the principal and school office.Maintains online student database and Infinite Campus files.Interact positively on a daily basis with parents, volunteers, visitors, students and staff.Supervise students in the office area.Prepare necessary district and state reports.Backup assistance for the health clinicSchedules busing for field tripsOverview of time clock for new and existing staff, manages and approvesMaintains building calendar in GoogleMaintains building schedule for other groups using the facility Keep deadlines.Handle paperwork involved with all bookkeeping, payroll, fee collection, purchasing, substitute teachers, data processing, transportation, student records, and Free/Reduced lunch.Prepare and act as editor for school newsletter.Order supplies for all staff.Other duties as may be assigned or developed.CLASSIFICATIONSecretarial/ClericalGroup FEight (8) hours per day. Twelve (12) months.EMPLOYMENT DATE2024-2025 School YearPREPARATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLSKnowledge in the operation of computersword processing, database,spreadsheet applications, and e-mail.Knowledge of or willingness to learn BSO ordering system and Infinite Campus.Good oral and written communication skills.Ability to prioritize, organize, and initiate responsibility.Successful experience in a responsible secretarial position with experience in working with large numbers of students, parents and staff.Ability to work without supervision.Cross training in health secretary responsibilities.Knowledge of office machines-fax, scanner, and copy machine.Telephone skills, which are polite, tactful, and efficient.Demonstrate proficiency in typing and other office skills.Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.Willingness to assume responsibility.Ability to work with staff, students, and public.Capable of representing the school in a professional manner, which is not limited to confidentiality, communication skills, dress. The position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. workday. The employee will frequently work in different areas of the building including in/at desks, on or near the floor, standing, in movement while supervising students during indoor and outdoor activities, etc. The employee will usually work in indoor temperatures but will work outdoors when supervising playground and transportation activities and while on field trips.
