In the Advanced Technology department, located in Cedar Rapids Iowa, your mission will be to apply your electrical engineering expertise to tackle some of the most challenging and innovative projects in military communication. Working with government research facilities, you’ll have the unique opportunity to shape the future by developing groundbreaking technologies that have far-reaching implications for national security, defense, and beyond. You will be working with the customers and a cross-function Collins team to develop rapid prototypes, proof of concepts and hands-on testing.What You Will Do:
You will work closely with experienced engineers in government research facilities to explore and develop state-of-the-art communication solutions.
You will utilize your knowledge of electrical engineering to create rapid prototype and proof-of-concept models with tasks including but not limited to integration of systems, troubleshooting, running, and facilitating testing.
You will stay at the forefront of technology trends, both within and outside the electrical engineering domain, to identify potential areas of interest and application for advanced research topics.
You will engage in cross-disciplinary collaborations with other engineers, scientists, and researchers to perform tasks including design, requirements capture, development, documentation, integration and testing of complex systems.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
Demonstrates solid understanding of software engineering principles, including exposure to embedded systems.
Displays experience with networking protocols including TCP/IP and UDP, including Linux IP tools and SNMP.
Displays a high level of adaptability and a drive to learn and grow in a fast-paced research environment.
Displays exposure to radio communication.

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
