We own a construction business here in Cedar Rapids. Our business does general residential contracting.
We need a crew foreman for one of our teams. You will be primarily building decks in the summer and remodeling bathrooms in the winter. But there will other jobs we need you to do like building a fence or laying luxury vinyl flooring.
Looking for someone to start ASAP if possible.
You will be managing a crew of 1-2 other people and making sure the job gets done correctly. The goal is for you to complete the jobs with minimal supervision.
However, I'm not expecting that from you on day one; that would be crazy.
We also want to quickly get you in a position where you can manage jobs from start to finish: go out and bid the job, give the customer the quote, sign the contract, and then order material for the job. We aren’t going to have you do this with every type of job; probably just decks and bathrooms.
Bonuses will be paid when you close a sale.
Things needed for this position:
A drivers license and vehicle.
You need a bunch of experience and knowledge in construction. We are not hiring an amateur or someone we need to babysit.
Ability to figure things out. If you’ve never installed a fence before, and that’s the next job, I need you to watch 10 YouTube videos about how to do it, and then ask me questions about it.
You need to make decisions quickly and work quickly too.
A fast learner.
Ability to manage people and keep them on track.
Basic Excel and Word skills.
We are looking for someone to expand with the business. If you can make things happen, there is potential to make more money down the road.
Tools aren’t required because you will have one of our job trailers with you on-site.
