Employment Type:Full timeShift:Description:Position Purpose:The Community Health Supervisor will supervise and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Community Outreach Program. The Supervisor will work closely with contracted employees from Aegis Health to schedule screening event and organize staff and supplies as needed. The position will have a significant amount of autonomy and responsibility for the organization and success of each screening.What you will do:
Actively promotes and markets MercyOne’s prevention and wellness services to area employers.
Assists in developing strategic marketing plan for corporate health and wellness services and reports marketing progress and company relationships to Vice President of Business Development. Responsible for programmatic growth.
Responsible for invoicing corporate clients for screening events and ensuring payment.
Responsible for developing and maintaining current policies.
Management of daily operations, product line development, annual budget development and compliance, monthly financial reporting/analysis and annual reporting as per state guidelines.
Acts as the liaison among MercyOne Medical Center, Aegis, and contracted company representative for health screening.
Arranges for rental car schedule, meet and leave times, event set-up and tear down and transfer all needed data to Aegis Health and Mercy billing office.
Teaches various health related classes on basic exercise, nutrition and stress management for screening companies. The position will have a significant amount of autonomy and responsibility for the organization and success of each screening.
Responsible for measuring blood pressure, height, weight, waist circumference and administering finger stick blood sampling.
Provides lab results to each client and reviews the information as requested. Verbal and written educational materials may also be provided.
Transports supplies, organization, hygiene, and overall flow of participants at his/her station at the entire screen.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge based on disease risk factor and all aspects of prevention/wellness.
Coordinates, cleans and organizes supplies at screening station.
Monitors clinical lab results and questionnaires.
Warmly welcomes participants and ensures their comfort and confidentiality at screen.
Markets the program as appropriate and/or directed.
Provides input for program maintenance and development.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, nutrition, nursing or related health field required.
Valid Iowa Driver’s/Chauffeurs License required. Must meet Mercy’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and be at least 18 years of age.
BLS for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Proof on completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
2-3 years’ experience in disease prevention/ lifestyle modification areas required.
