TITLE: Long-term Substitute Teacher - Elementary Level II Special EducationLOCATION: East Ridge Elementary SchoolREPORTS TO: Principal or DesigneeJOB SUMMARY: Provides long-term instruction in the curricular areas and behavioral skills to students in 4th through 5th grade during a teacher's absenceJOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In the teacher's absence, follow the lesson plans provided to ensure programming associated with core curriculum and behavioral skills
Follow behavior management plans for students
Assists and collaborates with the administration, school counselor, staff, parents and students on matters pertaining to academic achievement and social/emotional/behavioral goals
Maintains appropriate records and protects the confidentiality of data
Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Appropriate State of Iowa Licensure including Substitute Authorization Certificate
Experience in classroom teaching elementary grade preferred.
Initiative to be a self starter
Intuitive to the needs of students
Flexibility in assignment given
Ability to use good judgment
