Quality checks and all other profit and loss activities. Implementing and maintaining a Lean culture with focus on waste management, quick change over, and efficiency based operations. Responsible for placement and management of entire work crew. Works with maintenance to create and maintain equipment with proper preventative maintenance programs resulting in little to no downtime. Reporting Relations:Accountable and Reports to: Vice President, Bakery; Plant ManagerPositions that Report to you: Room Production supervisors, Line Leads, Maintenance personnel, QC, Production PersonnelPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise, train, schedule and evaluate personnel.
Oversee waste control, inventory and production processes
Works with Q.C and FDA. assuring all monitoring and verification activities are performed and all food safety issues and concerns are addressed and maintained.
Work with stores on promotions, new products and concerns.
Implement security and safety plans/procedures.
Implements and drives, Lean culture with special focus on SMED, quick change over studies and implementation, and waste management.
Responsible to meet recipe, and build standards to assure the best quality product are produced.
Will need to understand and use Process software needed to run the plant.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Works closely with Human Resources.
Informs maintenance of needed repairs.
Ensure OSHA standards are followed.
Assist with store openings and promotional activities.
Oversees plant and grounds.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
Experience with managing people.
Must have the ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages and have basic computer skills.
Understand the need for and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to adapt to changes throughout daily operation.
Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma green belt, Quick Changeover experience qualifications highly helpful.
HACCP certification, and experience working with USDA highly helpful.
Education and Experience:High School or equivalent experience. Requirement of three or more years’ experience in management along with production facility experience.Physical Requirements:
Must be able to physically perform light work exerting up to 20-pounds of force occasionally.
Visual requirements include vision from less than 20-inches to more than 20-feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
The duties of this position are performed mostly on the plant floor with some office duties.
Frequent deadlines exist while handling multiple tasks.
Daily contact occurs with employees and office personnel.
Daily contact with Governmental regulatory agencies including USDA, and FDA.
Work environment will be mostly in refrigerated areas working with perishable products.
