Global Payroll Specialist

The Global Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and executing payroll functions for Amentum’s international programs across various countries globally. This role ensures the accurate and compliant distribution of payroll data to third-party vendors, adhering to international regulations and standards. The specialist will work independently, providing high-quality customer service to employees worldwide. This is a remote-telework role and requires US citizenship.Responsibilities:

Process timely and accurate payroll for employees in multiple countries, ensuring compliance with local labor laws, international regulations, and company policies. Coordinate with third-party payroll vendors to ensure seamless payroll processing and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

Maintain and update payroll records, including earnings, deductions, and taxes, for employees across various geographies.

Assist in the implementation of payroll requirements for new contracts and offboarding for lost contracts, including setup and system updates.

Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external standards.

Support internal and external audits related to payroll, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Create and analyze payroll reports using COGNOS or similar tools for decision-making, problem-solving, and audits.

Provide excellent customer service to international employees, HR, Operations, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders, addressing payroll inquiries and issues promptly.

Participate in testing and implementation of new payroll system versions, patches, or enhancements.

Collaborate with the Global Payroll Manager and other team members to improve payroll processes and ensure compliance with changing regulations.

Knowledge and Skills:

In-depth knowledge of international payroll processing and compliance with local labor laws.

Each country has its own set of labor laws, tax regulations, and social security requirements. Staying updated with these laws and ensuring compliance can be challenging.

Processing payroll in multiple currencies involves handling exchange rates and ensuring accurate conversions.

Different countries may have preferred payment methods, such as direct deposits, checks, direct wires, or mobile payments, which need to be accommodated.

Regulatory requirements can change frequently, requiring continuous monitoring and adaptation.

Each country has its own tax structure, including income tax, social security contributions, and other payroll-related taxes.

Coordinating payroll processes across different time zones requires careful planning to meet deadlines.

Different countries have different public holidays, which can affect payroll processing schedules.

Cultural differences can impact communication and expectations regarding payroll matters.

Understanding and managing country-specific benefits, bonuses, and compensation structures.

Integrating different payroll systems and software used in various countries can be complex.

Ensuring the security and privacy of payroll data across different jurisdictions with varying data protection laws.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Proficiency in using payroll software and tools, such as Deltek Cost Point and MS Office, especially Excel.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to create and interpret payroll reports.

Experience and Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field. Two (2) years’ experience in a related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.

Eight years of payroll experience required to include three years of global payroll experience.

Deltek Cost Point experience preferred.

CPP designation a plus

Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel

Prior transition/system conversion experience a plus
