LSI seeks part -time occasional Kinyarwanda Interpreters to serve clients within our Refugee and Immigrant Community Services program in the Des Moines area. Hours and shifts will vary, with no guaranteed number of hours each week. One should be fluent in the Kinyarwanda language.What You'll DoInterpreters provide direct interpretation and translation services between users of different languages. Interpret conversations in person or over the phone, and translate documents and forms. Interpreters must communicate effectively with clients, community partners, volunteers, and staff to ensure high and efficient quality of service to clients. Our Interpreters uphold interpretation ethics and guidelines.Length of position assignment may depend on the changing language needs of the program. What You'll NeedQualified applicants will have a high school diploma/equivalent and 1 year of experience interpreting in the refugee community. Qualified applicants will be fluent in English and one of the languages listed above.
