Regional Manager - Solar Transport

DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide Leadership to direct reports, including, but not limited to, hiring, training and development

Direct drivers in developing and implementing best practices, measuring operational efficiencies, continuously improving productivity, and achieving operational standards of excellence

Works with Dispatch and Regional Fleet Assistant(s) to establish work assignments that effectively balance work among Drivers, recognizing volume peaks and Customer requirements to support our 99.8% Run-out-free performance standard

Partner with Safety, Recruiting, and Fleet Maintenance to ensure the availability of equipment, Drivers, and programs to meet all operational requirements

Ensures that all safety policies and procedures are implemented and monitored, including but not limited to, ensuring drivers are properly trained, equipment is regularly inspected and compliant, and following all reporting procedures for accidents and spills

Works with Fleet Managers and Regional Fleet Assistants (s) in the “carding” of new drivers at regional terminals

Collaborates with team on strategic and operational planning and new opportunities

Act as the driver advocate with internal departments to answer driver questions and resolve driver concerns and issues

Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications: Education

High School diploma (required), with advanced training and education (preferred)

Previous experience in trucking line management preferred

Qualifications: Experience

5+ yrs. experience in the transportation industry, experience in bulk fuel transportation preferred

Previous experience in trucking line management

Knowledge of DOT/OSHA/EPA regulations, and accident and spill procedures required

Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Excel

Qualifications: Competencies

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including strong listening skills

Experience in exercising initiative and sound judgment in decision-making

Willingness to voluntarily take the first steps to identify and address existing and potential obstacles, issues, and opportunities

Ensuring the delivery of value-added, high-quality, and proactive support on a consistent basis

The ability to support employees in their efforts to achieve job goals by providing resources, removing obstacles, and acting as a buffer
