Job DescriptionThe Iowa Finance Authority, located in Des Moines, IA, is on the search for aCompliance Officer to join our Section 8 team.As a Section 8 Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our housing programs. You’ll work closely with property owners, management agents, and government agencies to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and contractual obligations. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and commitment to affordable housing will contribute to our mission. This position travels frequently throughout the state of Iowa.Responsibilities:

Compliance Monitoring Functions:

Conduct desk reviews and analyze data to identify trouble indicators.

Perform on-site comprehensive reviews of property management practices, rental calculations, and resident relations.

Rate project performance based on analysis.

Ensure maintenance and repair compliance based on REAC inspections.

Address resident inquiries and staffing issues.

Review legal documents for compliance.

Technical Assistance and Reporting:

Assist Compliance Officers in achieving Section 8 contract compliance.

Maintain project timelines related to performance goals.

Provide status reports to the Program Director.

Author reports detailing deficiencies and corrective actions.

Monitor corrective actions for HUD/IRS compliance.

Public Relations:

Serve as the primary point of contact for property owners, management agents, and government agencies.

Keep stakeholders informed of Compliance issues[AF1] and follow up until resolution.

Provide technical assistance to industry representatives and communities.
