The Brenton Arboretum is now hiring an individual for supervise the spring/summer/fall youth education programming.
Term: This job is term employment for April through October. Hours vary, up to 25 hours per week. Occasional weekend and evening work required.
Pay: Between $16 and $18 per hour, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities:
Supervising, scheduling, staffing, and leading youth education programs. Handling registrations, fees, teachers, volunteers, etc. Leading a changing team of field trip naturalists throughout the field trip experience. Collecting and submitting contract employee hours for payment. There will be opportunities to create new and unique programming under the guidance of the Executive Director.
Candidates Must:
Be good with children and have excellent people skills
Have experience in and/or passion for the natural world
Be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
Be able to pass a background check
Be able to work outdoors on their feet in uncomfortable weather (heat, rain, wind, etc.) for hours at a time
Have reliable transportation to work
Not required, but preferred: Teaching experience or training
