We are a growing insurance agency in Des Moines, Iowa with an urgent need for a full time administrative assistant. The right person will be kept very busy with a wide variety of responsibilities. A strong self-starter will never find themselves bored or at a loss for what to do.
Here are the characteristics that are required:
1. Self-starter. The majority of time, you will be the only one in the office. We need someone who will see what needs to be done and take pride in doing it well.
2. Trustworthy. You will have access to sensitive personal information as well as finances within the office. We HAVE to be able to trust you completely.
3. Kind on the phone. We believe that the customer is always right and we want someone who has the attitude that when something is not quite right, we make it right. Good communication is absolutely essential for success in this position.
4. Impeccable customer service. This quality goes right along with the previous one. Customer service seems to be a thing of the past. We want someone who will do everything within their power to make the customer feel valued and important-because they are!
5. Attention to detail. This person will be trusted with several very important tasks that require unwavering attention to detail. WE can't let things slip through the cracks and this will be very high on the list of expectations.
6. Exceptional computer skills. It should go without saying in this technology driven world that we need someone who is efficient with the computer.
7. Creativity. While there will be a lot of attention to detail, we would also welcome someone who is creative and has good ideas for how we can improve and get better at what we do.
8. Punctual. We need someone who shows up to work on time. We don't ever want to wonder where in the world our administrative assistant is.
9. Team player. Yes, there will be times when this person will be given some mundane and tedious projects. We need someone who is not only willing to do those things with a smile on their face, we need someone who is constantly looking for ways that they can serve the team better. We want someone who takes great pride in a job well done and great pride in the success of others.
