The Electrical Maintenance Technician oversees the general upkeep various buildings including SSC, Distribution Center and Site D. Responsible for repairing systems and equipment, conducting preventive maintenance procedures, and contributing to remodels and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, motors, appliances, and fixtures, using hand tools, power tool, and test equipment.
Installation of electrical systems including the layout, rough-in, and trim of lighting, power, and low voltage systems.
Independently test, troubleshoot, diagnosis, and maintenance of malfunctioning systems, components, and equipment.
Inspection of systems and equipment to identify hazards and/or defects, and correct unsafe conditions.
Coordinate with other vendors and contractors to maintain efficiency.
Ensure job documentation is completed, including tracking, and reporting any changes made in the work order system.
Keeps worksite and tools clean and completes maintenance as needed. Use equipment safely and return in good condition. Responsible for maintaining correct safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret job drawings and schematics.
Requirements:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a building trades capacity.
Current Journeyman Class A of Class B Electrical License in the State of Iowa Required.
Knowledgeable of electrical distribution systems, low voltage systems, and control system installation, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and its implementation.
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, instructions, safety data sheets and other safety information required for proper performance of the work.
Ability to read and comprehend preventive maintenance manuals for equipment and systems.
Ability to test and evaluate performance of electrical systems.
Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting practices and procedures, preventive maintenance practices for electrical systems and components. Knowledge of building controls.
Work is primarily performed within the building complex setting.
Will respond to after-hours calls as directed.
Valid Driver’s License required.
