We are currently seeking a full-time customer service representative/in-house proofreader to join our team. ProofreadingPal offers a relaxed office atmosphere with a small group of co-workers who enjoy working together to put forth the best service for our clients.

This position requires that you work with our team from our office in downtown Iowa City. This role is for an ambitious individual with both strong customer service skills and excellent writing skills. We are an ideal fit for those looking to break into the proofreading and editing industry!

In addition to providing high-quality proofreading and editing services, our in-house representatives work with customers using email-based communication as well as live chat and phone interactions. You will become a customer service hero and learn some of the best customer service practices and procedures! ProofreadingPal prides itself on delivering above and beyond customer service and cares about their customers and employees.

Ideally, you have the following:

-Previous customer service experience

-Working knowledge of various programs and document types (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe PDF, etc.)

-Excellent reading, writing, and communication skills

-Strong multitasking skills

-Confidence to work independently with minimal supervision following training

-Desire and willingness to expand your skills/responsibilities in order to grow with the company

-Ability to think outside the box and think on your feet in high-pressure situations

-Initiative to make suggestions to improve processes and ensure an excellent client experience

-Some college/university or related experience in proofreading and/or writing preferred

As our customer service representative, you will:

-Work alternating shifts (7:45 a.m.–5:30 p.m. CT) in a monthly schedule

-Efficiently and accurately monitor email-based communication with clients and staff

-Respond to client queries via live chats

-Respond to client queries via phone

-Balance various client/staff questions and issues, and handle them according to company guidelines

-Complete a daily task list while balancing assigned office duties

-Follow a manual to provide an exceptional customer service experience for clients and staff

-Work with a small team of customer service agents in a steadily growing company

-Focus on working collaboratively to grow and learn together as a team

As our in-house editor/proofreader, you will:

-Work alternating shifts (7:45 a.m.–5:30 p.m. CT) in a monthly schedule

-Proofread and edit various documents available to you on our job board

-Help with proofreading and editing rush documents in need of immediate attention

-Focus on improving your skills as a proofreader and editor
