As Cider Maker, you will be responsible for developing and producing outstanding ciders for the Wilsons Orchard brand and at Rapid Creek Cidery.Additional duties include various operational tasks involved in producing and packaging cider.This is a full-time, year round job.Compensation dependent on experience and abilities
Main Responsibilities:
- Become an expert on the 100+ varieties of apples grown at the orchard and use them to produce outstanding ciders
- Assist in development of recipes and production processes to make consistently great products
- Help to develop and foster a learning culture in the cider production team
- Further develop our supply chain to minimize waste and keep costs low
- Work with Sales and Marketing to meet market demands for existing products and to test and evaluate new products
- Assure proper quality controls and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in production processes
- Develop small batch ciders for trial and sale at Rapid Creek Cidery
- Work with RCC staff to develop successful cider/food pairings
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist the rest of the Cider Production Team to assure timely production of Wilsons hard and sweet ciders;
- Keep work areas clean and sanitary
Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years of commercial cider, wine or beer making experience
- Proven track record of working with a production team
- Ability to use computer for spreadsheets, word documents & emails
- Strong team attitude and ability to work with others
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with recipe development in alcoholic beverages
- Experience and understanding of yeast management
- Ability to operate forklifts
