This is a contingent position forecasted for three years. Within this role, you will:Perform basic product design, testing and/or analysis workOperate in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviewsDevelop recommendations within established guidelines; work and decisions are reviewed by supervisors before implementationApply existing applications to routine problemsProduce and/or evaluate possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications; this may include possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnelAnalyze assignments and determine engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for routine problems or projectsCompile and furnish necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnelLearn and apply company engineering policies and practices; learn company productsExecute test or analysis plans for product verification and validationReview field returned parts to determine root cause and aide in the redesign effort to correct or improveRequired skills and experience:Bachelors degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical EngineeringFamiliarity with diesel engine design, component development, and/or testingStrong CAD skills (CREO)Experience with GD&TExperience with drawing release and bills of materialExperience with project managementExperience with systems engineering/integrationExperience with root cause analysisFamiliarity with basic analytical tools (e.g. CFD/FEA, modal analysis) This position is located in Waterloo, IA.
