CPM has more than 1,200 employees with facilities in the Americas, Europe and Asia.CPM is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer for pelleting systems and size reduction equipment to oversee non-traditional markets for our products in the Americas. This position will be based out of our Waterloo, IA location. The individual must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical and commercial issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The Technical Sales Engineer will oversee and support the efforts of CPM’s direct and independent sales representatives in the Americas to identify opportunities, manage customer relationships, and collaborate with applications engineers to provide appropriate solutions.This position is located in Waterloo, IA or would possibly consider remote.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain expert level of product and application knowledge.

Articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.

Oversee response to functional, technical and commercial elements of RFIs/RFPs/RFQs

Interpret, understand and convey customer requirements.

Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to facilitate and drive future growth.

Travel to customer sites to deliver sales presentations, demonstrate equipment advantages, provide technical training, and generally support the field sales representative.

Work with the Test Center Manager and technicians to develop protocols for each customer test and assist with the test as needed.

Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company databases.

Collaborate with CPM engineers to assist in the design and development of solutions to meet the customer’s needs.

Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.

Provide status of ongoing and future projects.

Assist with resource and budget planning as required.

Identify opportunities to improve business processes and identify, evaluate, and implement solutions.

Assist or manage the development and deployment of new or existing systems, procedures, or policies as assigned.

Be prepared to report on opportunities, sales quotations, and sales orders as required.

Participate in or lead meetings as required or assigned.

Travel to other CPM locations, both domestic and international, to collaborate with or train internal colleagues.

Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in technical field (Mechanical Engineering preferred) and business (MBA preferred). Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Minimum 10 years combined experience in process equipment sales, applications, field sales and business development roles. Experience with pelleting and/or size reduction equipment is a plus.

Demonstrable experience in collaborating with, driving and managing cross-functional teams, creating value for customers and driving operational excellence within areas of responsibility.

Supporting and driving a field sales team on applications to close profitable business

Must be flexible and able to drive change management.

Self manages; takes initiative and able to collaborate across geographies and functions in a matrixed environment.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors.

High integrity and ethics.

Understand and resolve technical questions and requests.

Outcome focused on forwarding the sales process and closing profitable business with the ability to manage competing priorities and work well under pressure.

Previous experience managing, leading, and developing talent is a plus.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Strong Microsoft office skills.

Ability to travel as needed – estimate + 50% average.
