This position facilitates rail shipments across multiple origins, destinations, and railroad networks supporting large oilseeds processing faculties and various origins. This role oversees railcar fleet utilization, coordinates movements with multiple Class I and short line railroads, and works closely with commercial and operations teams to ensure efficient product flow, reliable customer service, and cost-effective transportation.The ideal candidate has a keen interest in the food and biofuels space with an ambition to grow with LDC as it expands its US footprint, while maintaining a focus on safety, sustainability, and customer service. Primary Responsibilities/Essential FunctionsCoordinate and execute inbound and outbound rail shipments across multiple railroad carriers.Manage a fleet of biodiesel and food grade tank cars, ensuring optimal utilization and visibility.Monitor railcar movements, resolve service interruptions, and minimize demurrage and detention costs.Coordinate daily rail loading and unloading activities with operations to support production and inventory needs. Plan inventoryMaintain transportation forecasts and provide logistics support for commercial and operational planning.Serve as the primary contact for railroads, railcar leasing companies, and rail-served customers.Develop and maintain freight rates, transportation cost models, and freight pricing matrices.Review and resolve freight invoice discrepancies, claims, and accessorial charges.Prepare and maintain shipping documentation and communicate quality requirements to operations and laboratory teams.Identify transportation efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service reliability.Support merchandising activities through freight analysis and market intelligence.Build strong relationships with railroads, carriers, customers, and suppliers.Communicate, and implement schedule revisions to address changing business conditions, production adjustments, railroad service interruptions, and customer requests. Additional ResponsibilitiesCross-train on other roles in the office.Develop competence in LDC products varying qualitiesPerform other duties as assigned.Additional ResponsibilitiesCross-train on other roles in the office.Develop competence in LDC products varying qualitiesPerform other duties as assigned.
