Staff Accountant

OVERVIEWThe Staff Accountant is a full-time position responsible for driving accounting, general ledger, and financial operations. Operating as a agile team member within our Finance and Accounting organization, this role partners across accounting, FP&A, and treasury functions. The Staff Accountant leverages modern technology and AI tools to execute core month-end close processes, perform balance sheet reconciliations, support cash positioning, and communicate financial results to leadership across the company.REPORTS TOThe Staff Accountant reports to the Treasury Manager in the Finance and Accounting department.ESSENTIAL DUTIESThe essential duties for this role include, but are not limited to:Effectively communicate financial performance, general ledger variances, and operational insights across accounting, finance, treasury, and cross-functional leadership teams.Execute key month-end close activities, including preparing complex journal entries, expense accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations within Workday.Leverage AI tools (such as Claude in Excel) and data platforms (Snowflake) to analyze large financial datasets, automate manual reconciliations, and optimize workflow efficiency.Support cross-functional finance operations by monitoring cash entries, assisting with bank reconciliations, and tracking daily liquidity entries as needed.Assist in evaluating departmental spend and actual vs. budget variances to support FP&A forecasting and management reporting.Help document, refine, and enforce internal accounting controls and assist with annual financial statement audit requirements.Partner with FP&A to prepare presentation materials and executive summaries for monthly financial reviews with senior leadership.Maintain agility and flexibility to step into adjacent treasury, financial modeling, and operational accounting projects as business needs evolve.Achieve results by working in a fast-paced team environment while simultaneously managing and prioritizing multiple deliverables with strict deadlines.Maintain a strong sense of ownership and pride in work performed.Additional responsibilities as assigned.BEHAVIORSThe SVG behaviors are listed below:Be Aware (Emotional Intelligence)Be Open & Honest (Communication)Be a Team Player (Teamwork and Collaboration)Be Accomplished (Drive for Results)Be the Example (Develop Self & Empower People)Be Forward Thinking (Strategic Thinking)Be a Problem Solver (Continuous Improvement)Additional behaviors for this position include:Work EthicOrganization SkillsAttention to DetailSelf-starter
