Duties for the LPN/LVN will include providing age-specific care based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Army Community Hospital Outpatient Clinics; specific health care provider's orders; the physical, mental and emotional needs of the patient; and the policies and procedures.
Qualified candidates will have the experience and ability to perform the following procedures:
12 Lead EKG
Urinalysis dipstick
PAP/Pelvic examination/PAP smears
Hemoccult testing
Eye, Throat, Nasal and/or Wound culture,
Visual Acuity checks
Orthostatic (tilt) vital signs
Wound cleaning/Dressing changes
Phlebotomy
Eye, Wound and Ear irrigation
In addition, LPN/LVN must have experience in:
Sterile prep for minor surgical procedures
Medication administration per licensure and certification.
Administation of immunizations to all age groups with appropriate medical record review
EMR, Patient History/Medication reconciliation/Physical assessments/Assess vital signs
Perform appointment setting through use of CHCS as needed in support of clinic functions.
Performing daily quality control checks on clinic glucose test monitor under supervision of senior nursing personnel.
Assisting Front Desk operations, as needed, to be determined by clinic Leadership team.
Maintaining a Competency Assessment Folder and keeps the COR informed of
Issues to include all mandatory trainings.
Assisting with preparing clinic for business prior to starting patient care.
Transporting patients to other units/departments assuring safety of patient.
Normal duty hours for the Outpatient Clinics are 0730-1630 Monday through Friday (excluding legal federal holidays).
Contract employee may be asked to work adjusted hours instead of normal duty hours to meet patient demand and hours of the clinic supported.
This includes a 60-minute lunch break, which is not paid by the Government.
Normal hours for Soldier Readiness Processing are 0830-1700 Monday through Friday. This includes a 30-minute lunch break, which is not paid by the Government.
Qualifications
LPN/LVN trained at an accredited Nursing Program, with an Associate’s Degree in Practical Nursing.
Current and unrestricted license in any of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands and be able to obtain clinical privileges to individually practice medicine
BLS
Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years, which includes the care of adults, and newborns
