Oxford Animal Hospital is now hiring a full-time Boarding Department Manager to join our amazing team! The ideal candidate:- is self-motivated and demonstrates leadership qualities- works well independently and on a team- has excellent interpersonal communication skills- demonstrates compassion with animals and their owners- has one year or more experience in veterinary hospital as a supervisorThis position requires that you are available to work a wide range of shifts from day/evening, weekends and holidays. Must be available for 'on call' emergencies and fill when employees call in sick.Job Overview:The Boarding Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the kennel technician below as well as overseeing kennel operations. Assists Practice Manager with conducting monthly kennel team meetings, coordinates the work schedule, assists with hiring and training new kennel team members. Will handle kennel orders for supplies, handles facility maintenance, develop and enforce kennel polices and procedures.The kennel technician is responsible for daily care of boarding and day-care pets. The team member needs excellent communication and client service skills to admit and discharge pets. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noise. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and contagious disease. There is also general hospital cleaning duties such as trash, sweeping, mopping, and laundry. Ability to lift objects weighing over 40 pounds and able to stand for long periods of time.
