Busy locally-owned company seeks Full-time Offline Captioning Coordinator for Video Productions, requires some evenings and weekends.
Primary duties involve working directly with offline captioning clients to determine the proper workflow for captioning television and internet video productions, coordinating schedules and management of offline projects, creating captioning files using specialized software in different technical environments and formats, troubleshooting technical issues, and staying abreast of constant technological advancements in the ever-changing, high-tech video production industry. Tasks include transcribing and editing video and audio files, synchronizing written documents with media files, and researching technical information to produce accurate, verbatim captioning files in accordance with FCC regulations. In addition, this position requires other general support tasks for the company's operations.
Successful candidate must have:
a minimum of an Associates degree or equivalent higher education preferred
mastery of the English language in both oral and written communication skills
proficiency in spelling, grammar and punctuation
demonstrated experience and skill in editing written documents
excellent listening skills and the ability to accurately process oral information quickly
superior keyboarding/typing skills
well-developed internet research techniques and tools
at least two years experience working in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel programs
detail-oriented organizational and technical skills
strong customer service skills
the ability and desire to work independently and manage his/her own workload and deadlines
analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
a perfection-driven work ethic
flexibility in his/her personal schedule to meet the demands of this position
