Role DescriptionThe System Administrator is responsible for maintaining the stability, integrity, and optimal performance of enterprise systems to ensure reliable support of WireCo’s business operations. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all system software and associated operating environments.The System Administrator must exhibit the behaviors of the WireCo Business System (WBS):Teamwork – Fosters inclusion and encourages respectful debate.Accountability – Owns outcomes, learns from setbacks, and recognizes achievements.Self-Awareness – Reflects on strengths and growth areas, mindful of their impact on others.Noble Intent – Prioritizes integrity and collective success.Determined – Takes initiative and seeks solutions.Transparent – Embraces open, honest communication.Curious – Pursues knowledge and challenges the status quo.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist in the administration of Windows and Linux servers, storage systems, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)Monitor system performance, availability, and security; respond to alerts and incidents in a timely mannerSupport patch management, backups, disaster recovery plans, and endpoint configurationCollaborate on infrastructure projects, upgrades, and integrations with senior engineersMaintain accurate system documentation, including system diagrams, configurations, and proceduresWork closely with Help Desk and Application teams to resolve system-related issuesEvaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, and make recommendations for system enhancements, optimizations, and cost efficienciesPerforms other related duties as assigned
