This individual will:
Serve as the primary legal contact for company branchesnationwide;
Be the primary interface with, and manage outside counsel on all matters of litigation or regulatorycompliance;
Oversee and execute legal duties relating but not limited to joint ventures, claims, mitigation of risk, government contracts and other day to day legalitems;
Draft, review, interpret and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements including subcontracts, purchase orders, master contracts, non-disclosure agreements and non-competeagreements;
Review and improve standard contract templates andidentifyareas of continuous improvement for the contract management process and other companyprocesses;
Counsel company branches on legal implications of commercial and operational matters in order andprovidelegal advice that aligns with company’sgoals;
Develop,implementand presenttraining programs for operations and corporate personnel on risk mitigation, contract management, and regulatorycompliance;
Performing records and legalresearch;
Work in conjunction with various internal departments toidentifyand address legal and business issues; and
Performadditionaltasks as requested by the General Counsel.
RequirementsBasic Requirements:
Juris Doctor
Minimum of 7 years of experience
License to practice law
Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to an evolving work environment
Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize a workload efficently
High level of emotional intelligence
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Proven track record of being proficent in litigation and handling claims
Ability to maintain high quality work output in a dynamic work environment
Ability to work independently,efficientlyand proactively on multiple projects under tight deadlines whilemaintaininga commitment to quality
Ability to travel up to 25%
Proven track record of being a self-starter
Preferred Requirements:
Construction industry experience
Federal Compliance and/orGovernmentContractingexperience
Employment/Laborlaw and/or Corporate Governanceexperience
Local or willing to relocate to the Kansas City Metro area
