About This Role :
Come join our team as a Custodial Specialist! This position will provide a clean and safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors at the Peters Recreation Complex.
Duties of this role include :
Cleaning, dusting, and / or disinfecting all areas of the facility to include floors, stairs, walls, toilets, showers, fixtures, mats, windows (inside and outside), ledges, handrails, and trash receptacles in order to provide clean, sanitary and attractive area by using brooms, mops, vacuums, power sweepers, buffers, power washers extractors, solvents, and other custodial supplies and equipment
Refinishes tile floors and extracts carpets
Cleans and arranges the custodial storage areas
Maintain equipment and keep equipment in good repair and working order by using the necessary tools
Assist with special arrangements for special events and activities by operating carts and dollies, utilizing an ability to employ safe maneuvering techniques
Perform duties as required by the supervisor in support of the operational emergency needs of the Rec Complex
Hours will be Monday-Friday, 6 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM with rotating weekends.

What You’ll Need to Succeed :
Preferred Qualifications :
High school diploma
Experience working in an institutional setting
Experience using commercial cleaning equipment
Stable work history
Knowledge in custodial procedures
Ability to work around a large participant and employee base
Ability to work with the pressure of a schedule that requires adapting to a varying routine
Other Requirements :
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
Ability to operate and control walk-behind and riding scrubbers
Ability to work around cleaning and floor chemicals
Ability to transport heavy objects (up to 50lbs)
Work is generally performed by standing and walking during the shift
