Gypsum Underlayment Mixer Operator/Mechanic

As a Gypsum Mixer Operator, your primary responsibility is to operate and maintain machinery used in the production of gypsum-based underlayment materials ensuring the proper mixing and pouring of gypsum underlayment to meet project specifications.Key Responsibilities:

Operate gypsum underlayment mixing machinery according to standard operating procedures.

Monitor equipment performance, including mix consistency, and flow rates.

Adjust machine settings as necessary to achieve desired gypsum underlayment properties and consistency.

Handle raw materials such as gypsum, sand, and water, ensuring accurate measurements and proper mixing ratios.

Conduct routine quality checks on gypsum underlayment batches to ensure adherence to specifications.

Monitor mix proportions, density, and flow characteristics to maintain product quality.

Identify and address any deviations from quality standards, adjusting as needed.

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Perform routine maintenance on mixing equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs as needed.

Report any major equipment issues to the shop manager for timely resolution.

Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth operation of the gypsum underlayment production process.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience operating machinery.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with gypsum underlayment or similar gypsum-based materials is advantageous.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including equipment manuals and safety guidelines.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.

Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in demanding conditions.

Willingness to follow safety protocols and adhere to regulatory requirements.
