Controls & Automation Engineer

Job Title: Controls & Automation EngineerJob DescriptionThis role involves planning and coordinating parts of technical design and engineering implementation of project work. You will receive technical direction from a senior engineer and will be expected to interact with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and flexible manner. Responsibilities include providing input and technical support on projects, adhering to good engineering practices and company standards, and contributing to the development and delivery of detailed documentation. The role demands a team player approach to project execution and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. You will also perform other duties as required.Hard Skills

Familiarity with current technologies used in automation engineering applications

Documentation, programming, simulation, testing, and commissioning support

I/O checkout with minimal supervision

Ability to read and modify system architecture, wiring, and panel drawings

PC hardware and software maintenance

Basic panel design and specification of components

Technical writing, including testing plan creation

Engineering critical thinking and independent problem solving

Understanding of process

SCADA application development using InTouch, RSView, and other software toolsets

Soft Skills

Ability to interact with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and flexible manner

Team player approach to project execution

Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing

Resourceful and well organized

Job TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Overland Park, Kansas.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in a regular office environment with exposure to moderate noise. It requires the ability to independently work in and navigate around construction sites, including working at heights, climbing ladders, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds. The role also involves working in Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and Specialty Chemical manufacturing facilities with exposure to chemicals, strong smells, loud noises, and extremes of temperature.
