THE POSITION: The Director of Revenue Accounting is responsible to oversee the financial accuracy and operations efficiency for the agency business, specifically in the areas of revenue recognition, project accounting and profitability. The Director should also be seen as a leader to all levels of the finance department personnel and cross-functional teams and should lead by example.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams.  These results are achieved by:Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes, ensuring timely, accurate recognition of revenue in accordance with applicable accounting standards.Develop and implement procedures to assess and recognize revenue in accordance with ASC 606 for complex contracts, multi-element arrangements, and performance obligations, ensuring consistency and accuracy across affiliates.Demonstrate strong knowledge of project accounting, accounting for Time and Materials and Fixed Fee contracts.Unbilled and Deferred Revenue (contract assets and contract liabilities) Management:· Manage and oversee the entire lifecycle of unbilled and deferred revenue, including accurate classification, recognition, and reconciliation in the general ledger.· Develop and implement policies to monitor and assess unbilled and deferred revenue balance sheet balances, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.Cost of Revenue Accounting & Analysis:· Oversee the accounting and analysis of cost of revenue, ensuring costs are accurately captured and aligned with revenue recognition.· Work closely with time management system to ensure time tracking is properly tracked and coordinating with cross-functional teams to identify, allocate, and report on costs associated with each project.Partner with Account Management and Project Management teams to optimize invoicing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate billing of revenue accruals in accordance with SOWs, ensuring proper alignment with actual performance and consistent application of revenue recognition policies.Delegate responsibilities to and supervise the work of project accounting work of direct reports and other areas as assigned providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.Elevate complex accounting issues as necessary to accounting leadership for resolution.Play key role in reviewing, improving and optimizing legacy processes and align with overall EVERSANA policies.Drive efforts to establish and ensure documentation of internal work policies and procedures are in place.Communicate and maintain trusted relationships with shareholders and business partners.Drive continuous improvements initiatives by reducing manual work and ensure full utilization and adoption of all current systems abilities while continuing to enhance and automate where possible.Analyze and interpret financial data and present the information with reports and presentations to senior finance members and business partners.Manage, develop, and retain staff within the finance department, training any new employees as necessary.Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.All other duties as assigned.Consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable state and local laws, it is the policy of EVERSANA to provide reasonable accommodation when requested by an employee with a disability, unless such accommodation would cause an undue hardship for EVERSANA.
