Aston Carter is working with a large, well-known company in the Kansas City area seeking to hire a Senior Manager of Travel Expense & Corporate Cards! They are seeking candidates with 4-7+ years of corporate credit card, travel & expense management experience from a large, Fortune 500 company. This position will be based out of the Overland Park, KS area so candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Our client will handle all relocation expenses. Job DescriptionLeads the Corporate Travel, Expense and Credit Card programs. Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of relevant business policies and procedures. Proposes and develops strategies relevant to the unit's business. Possesses deep knowledge of agency operations and corporate payment methods. Strong knowledge of the industry to apply best practices and establish benchmarking measurements for Travel, Expense, and Card key metrics. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Responsible for presenting results for the area of ownership to upper management and business partners.Responsibilities

Lead Corporate Travel, Expense, and Credit Card strategy and program management ensuring the program is current, effective, and successful.

Set vision for Travel, Expense, and Card programs.

Execute the strategy across the company for Travel, Expense, and Card.

Identify, communicate, and resolve risks and issues impacting financial, customer service, and quality for areas of responsibility.

Review controls and operating effectiveness for all areas to mitigate risk (corporate card) and ensure compliance with policies.

Benchmark with peer companies and/or industry associations to keep abreast of new changes, challenges, and opportunities; create benchmarking measurements for key metrics.

Understand the industry and the latest developments within the industry and apply best practices.

Participate in enterprise projects related to Travel, Expense, and Card to ensure appropriate requirements are developed based on a solid understanding of impacted systems and transaction flow.

Follow project progress and escalate significant issues to upper management for resolution.

Manage numerous third-party agencies, including contract negotiations, compliance, controls, budget management, and SLA oversight.

Provide leadership and set direction to the team, aligning initiatives with company goals.

Develop department goals and vision.

Communicate company information and the “why” behind activities and their connection to company goals/vision.

Delegate tasks effectively with clear expectations and accountability.

Ensure Travel, Expense, and Credit Card policy changes are understood, requirements are thoughtful, internal controls are considered, and changes are well communicated through the team.

Be aware of each team member's career goals, hold development discussions, and provide challenging assignments to promote development.

Manage and provide leadership, mentoring, coaching, and career development planning for team members, ensuring productivity is maximized and quality is delivered.

Required Skills:

4-7 years of managing a Corporate Travel, Expense, and Card program in a Fortune 500/Enterprise environment (required).

4-7 years of experience in RFI/RFP and contract negotiations (required).

2-4 years of management experience

Bachelor's Degree required.

Proven track record of leading high-performing teams (preferred).

Previous agency and/or payment operations experience (preferred).

People management skills (required).

Experience in Travel, Expense, and Credit Card management.

Proficiency in Concur and banking operations.
