This position will be full-time and remote with on-site requirements once a month.What You’ll Do
Data Modeling: Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to ensure consistency, integrity, and usability of the data across different systems and applications
ETL Development: Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from a wide range of sources, including MS Excel Sheets, Google Docs, SurveyMonkey, RedCap, MS Access Database, and external vendors' data warehouses
Data Integration: Integrate disparate data sources into a unified data platform, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and completeness
Data Quality Management: Implement data quality processes and standards to monitor and improve data quality throughout the data lifecycle
Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data processing and reporting workflows to ensure optimal system performance and reliability
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Azure Architects, Research Scientists, Business Analysts, and stakeholders, to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries, ETL specifications, and architectural diagrams
Training and Support: Provide training and support to internal teams on data engineering best practices, tools, and technologies
What You'll NeedRequired:
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture and engineering roles
Strong expertise in designing and implementing data architecture solutions using MS Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Synapse, and related technologies
Proficiency in data modeling techniques and tools, such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or PowerDesigner
Hands-on experience with ETL development using tools like Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Informatica or similar
5 years of prior experience working with ETL involving MS Excel
5 years of prior experience working with ETL involving SurveyMonkey
5 years of prior experience working with ETL involving Access Databases
5 years of prior experience working with Azure Data Factory
5 years of prior experience working with modeling using data modeling tools
5 years of experience working with and writing SQL Scripts
5 years of prior experience with Python
5 years of prior experience with PySpark
Preferred:
2 years of prior experience working with ETL involving RedCap
2 years of experience with Powershell
2 years of prior work with PowerBI
2 years of prior work with Tableau
2 years of prior experience working with ETL involving GoogleDocs
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
