NPosition Type ManagementJOB SUMMARYThe Senior Director, Campaign Operations is a key member of the Marketing Data Activation and Personalization Team (MDAP). The core focus of this role is to modernize Campaign Operations as the organization transitions to a multi-channel, always-on, automated go-to-market operating model. This role will be responsible for leading the strategic development and management of key marketing operations platforms, systems, and related integrations supporting Marriott’s marketing and outbound communications functions. This role leads efforts to define three focus areas: the way Audiences are utilized within marketing operations, how campaigns are identified, and how campaign-related activities and conversions are tracked to create maximum consistency and visibility across executions. This role will engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams with the goal of understanding business priorities and strategies that will lead to alignment of technical approaches, roadmaps, and priorities, thereby maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of campaign operations.CANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and Experience Required

4-year degree from an accredited university

Ten or more years’ experience in data management, marketing or campaign operations and/or business intelligence, demonstrating progressive career growth and patterns of exceptional performance

Experience directly managing cross-functional, sourced, and matrixed teams

Experience working directly with architects, engineer, and vendors on product enhancements

Experience with and working in Adobe suite of products including but not limited to Adobe Campaign Classic

Demonstrated understanding and demonstrated ability to clearly discuss technology concepts

Demonstrated ability to build consensus by translating between technical and nontechnical audiences

Demonstrated ability to assess end user/customer needs and creatively approach solutions as well as the ability to determine and influence the appropriate courses of action

Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-complexity efforts and competing priorities

Robust analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, develop recommendations, and report out

Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguous and open-ended business requirements and priorities, and translate the these into a clear roadmap and definition of success

Education and Experience Preferred

4-year degree from an accredited university in technology and business discipline

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Act as Business Product Owner for Campaign orchestration and capabilities, Campaign Framework (and Enterprise Marketing Taxonomy), Contact History, and Outbound Comms Activity, and Disposition Data

Create a vision and long-term strategy for campaign operations, including maintenance and enhancement of campaign operations platforms and tools

Create and execute the roadmap for evolution and integration of Campaign Operations tools and processes

Develop and implement strategies and architectures to continuously enhance the Operational Potential of Marriott’s Outbound Communication Tools

Lead how audience data is utilized to fulfill Outbound Communications across channels and experiences

Operationalize end-to-end Campaign Reporting and Insight through Product Ownership of tracking approaches

Oversee Campaign Developers/Team(s) (both internal and external) supporting the creation of Campaign Audience Files

Manage and mentor internal and vendor teams of data platform professionals

Own the roadmap for maintaining the home for Marketer-focused facilitation of access to Outbound Campaign-oriented capabilities (e.g. middleware, portal, etc.)

Work closely with cross functional teams and key personnel, including:

the Process COE Lead to create a continuous cycle of process improvement and enhanced operational potential and to inform them as new operational capabilities become available

the Workfront Product Owner and COE Lead to ensure that information is collected and passed to/from operational systems following guiding principles

Outbound Comms teams to understand the desired future-state and roadmaps for their tools

Marketer-focused facilitation innovation team to productize incubated concepts

Data Strategy, Data Analytics, and Audience Teams to understand changes to Customer Data and platforms

MarTech, Digital (web, Marriott Bonvoy App, Digital products) and Global IT Teams

Marketing Analytics, Reporting and Insight Teams

Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities

Interviews and hires employees.

Promotes the fair and equitable treatment of employees.

Facilitates regular, ongoing communication in department (e.g., staff meetings).

Fosters employee commitment to providing excellent service, participates in daily stand-up meetings and models desired service behaviors in all interactions with customer and employees.

Incorporates customer satisfaction as a component of staff/operations meetings with an emphasis on generating innovative ways to continually improve results.

Sets goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process and holds staff accountable for performance goals.

Solicits employee feedback.

Utilizes an “open door policy” and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.

Promotes adherence to policies consistently, follows disciplinary procedures and documents items according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process.

Conducts annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.

Champions change ensures brand and regional business initiatives are implemented and communicates follow-up actions to team as necessary.

Identifies talents of direct reports and their teams and assists with their growth and development plans.

California Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $127,088.00 to $281,923.00 annually.Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $127,088.00 to $256,293.00 annually.Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $153,776.00 to $281,923.00 annually.New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $127,088.00 to $281,923.00 annually.Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $127,088.00 to $281,923.00 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants.
