American Phoenix Pre-weighed Chemical Packaging division operates from five strategic locations: Topeka Kansas, Lawton Oklahoma, Anniston Alabama, Fayetteville North Carolina and Danville Virginia. Initiated in 2004, American Phoenix designed, built and maintains it proprietary chemical weighing and packaging equipment. Pre-weigh services are utilized by large manufacturing companies requiring precisely weighed chemicals for use in rubber mixing. We provide both product reliability and economic value to a critical component of rubber mixing, that makes your process more efficient.

SUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of Production Worker to safely achieve plant objectives. Controls schedule of production lines in accordance to customer needs. Tracks internal inventory to prioritize line production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Coordinates shipping requirements for customers.

Liaison with customer

Determines production needs based on customer orders and on-hand inventory.

Place orders in API database.

Schedule all orders.

Print and assign sequence of production based on customer needs.

Deliver related paperwork to production lines.

Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of production and material handling equipment.

Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

Resolves operational, production and maintenance problems to ensure and/or prevent operational delays.

Uses production computers to manage production orders.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

Interprets specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.

Participates in the continuous improvement of systems, methods, and processes through functional and cross-functional communication channels such as meetings, memos, and computer networks.

Analyzes and resolves work problems, and assists workers in solving work problems using risk management.

Confers with other supervisors to ensure smooth shift change.

Performs and supervises documentation such as computer input of job orders; completing forms; writing emails and memos; producing computer-generated reports;

Performs activities of workers supervised.

Complies with company policies.

Complete Accident Investigation Training

Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is maintained for employees.

Review and understand all production line work instructions

Maintain Basic First Aid and Adult CPR Certification

Performs various other tasks as assigned by Plant Manager.

Operation of Fork Truck if licensed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises 6 to 12 employees in Production. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems and processes are conducted safely.

Maintains a fair and consistent method of disciplinary action for all employees.

Full time position: 12 hour shifts, rotating schedule 7:30am - 8:00pm

Requirements

QUALIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill / ability required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or at least six months related experience / training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Excellent leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively use networked computer systems running various custom and generic applications including Microsoft Office.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

Must occasionally lift / move up to 55 pounds.

Must be able to pull chain hoist to lift super sacks weighing approximately 2200 pounds.

Operation of Fork Truck if licensed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to airborne particles. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and elevated noise levels. The employee is expected to follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.

Thorough knowledge of all operation equipment, safety policies and emergency response procedures.

Knowledge of the companys Chemical Hazard Communication program is critical.
