Position Overview:
We are looking for CMAs to provide exceptional care, support, and companionship to our senior residents in our home plus. The CMA will work closely with our healthcare team to ensure the well-being and comfort of our residents. Home Plus and Dementia experience is a plus!
Shifts:
Our biggest need is: Friday and Saturday night shifts 7pm-7am
We have other shifts available as well.
Job Responsibilities:
12 hour shifts
Administer medications accurately and as per physician's orders
Ensure proper storage and handling of medications
Monitor patients for adverse reactions to medications
Assist nursing staff with patient care and daily activities
Maintain accurate documentation of medication administration and other relevant information
Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding medication administration
Follow established policies and procedures for medication administration and patient care
Encourage residents to perform their own care when possible
Serve meals and assist in meal preparation following preplanned menus
Encourage proper diet and fluid intake, respecting residents' free choice
Initiate and participate in leisure activities for residents
Maintain timely and accurate records of residents' activities, incidents, and observations
Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents
Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond promptly to resident requests
Keep track of residents' whereabouts and notify supervisor of any issues
Foster teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers.
Qualifications/Skills:
Certified as a Medical Aide (CMA) in the state of Kansas
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a senior care setting is preferred but not required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Basic record-keeping skills
Basic knowledge of medications and their effects
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
