Job Posting End Date12-03-2024Please note the job posting will close on the day before the posting end dateJob SummaryUnder direct supervision, perform work pertaining to disconnecting, reconnecting, removing, installing and testing single-phase and three-phase kilowatt-hour and demand meters up to 260 volts; work delinquent accounts; read meters; investigate irregular readings, energy diversion, and inactive usage; contact customers, test, inspect, maintain, service, pack and transport measurement equipment and other equipment as assigned, and perform associated duties.Job DescriptionESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Disconnect and reconnect electrical service to customer, as directed, by removal or installation of single and three-phase kilowatt-hour meters or combination demand meters not to exceed 260 volts, for service orders, credit action, inactive usage, or as otherwise directed.
Install, remove, connect, and disconnect all self-contained single-phase and three phase meters and services and repair such installations.
Remove, install, change out or test single and three-phase kilowatt-hour or demand meters to provide or maintain service to the customer.
Assist in the investigation of energy diversion. Appear in court hearings as needed.
Initiate investigation orders relating to customer service and bill information.
Prepare service applications and discontinuance orders in field as necessary.
Read billing meters as may be assigned.Perform other duties as assigned.
Perform similar or less skilled work as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education: High school diploma or GEDExperience: No previous experience is required.License(s)/Certification(s): Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license. Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and or state law.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Must qualify through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company.A background and/or education in basic elements of electrical circuits are desired. Must successfully pass the Construction and Skills Trades (CAST) test. Call out and overtime availability is required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to drive motor vehicle; ability to use hand tools and electrical tools; lifting occasional 20 pounds and infrequently 25 pounds; walk and stand in uneven terrain; work in inclement weather; ability to bend, stoop, push, pull and kneel.Compensation DataCompensation Grade:N004-200Compensation Range:$22.98-26.48 USDHear about it first!
