Bluegrass Tire and Auto Repair is looking for experienced mechanics and lube technicians to join our team. We need individuals who have experience working in an independent mechanic shop or service department in an automobile dealership

This is a 5-bay shop with 3 lifts, 1 laser alignment rack, and one small lift for oil changes and minor repairs, in business since 1967, well established, with great reputation, and great for growth/franchising in mind. We have all the repair business for a local car dealership and act as their service department and perform warranty work.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to learn and grow in a nice working environment.

ASE certifications a big plus, but not mandatory. Candidate must be punctual, a self starter and work well with other team members.

This is an immediate opening.

Position: Automotive Mechanic

Job Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities:

☑ Mechanical ability to service cars and trucks of all types, foreign and domestic.

☑ The mechanic performs service and installation activities associated with maintenance and repair services, in a safe, accurate and timely manner.

☑ Diagnose and repair to specifications - engines, transmissions, differentials, brake and ABS system diagnoses and repair, and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment. Complete service and repair assignments efficiently, safely, and correctly

☑ Basic car care maintenance functions: oil changes, tire rotations, fluid exchanges, etc.

☑ Perform safety check on all vehicles. Physically inspect vehicles and identify any defects

☑ Air conditioning system diagnoses and repair.

☑ Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis.

☑ Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology.

☑ Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.

☑ Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.

☑ Adhere to all company policy, procedure, safety and environmental rules.

☑ Test drive customer vehicles serviced by you and other personnel

☑ Clean facilities, tools, and equipment and maintain an organized and neat working environment.

☑ Be able to speak, read and write English

☑ Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

☑Ability to pass background and drug test

☑ Must have a valid Kentucky driver's license and clean driving record.

☑ Must be responsible and dependable.

☑ Advise management of any damaged or unsafe equipment or tools

☑ Attention to detail, you'll also need a high level of motivation and energy and take pride in your work.

☑ Great Customer Service Skills. (Answer phones and greet customers) Great with selling work tickets.

☑ Prefer to have own tools but shop does have shop tools.

☑ Can handle high Volume with a can do attitude. Ability to work at a fast-paced, high volume shop

☑ Organized and willing to work weekends

☑ Team Leader. Not afraid to take charge WITH A GREAT ATTITUDE.

☑ Commitment to the processes and procedures of the Service Department and the manufacturer

Compensation: depending on experience and negotiable.
