Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wood Veneer Department Manager with a strong background in wood technology and management experience. As the Department Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the production of our wood veneer sheets, ensuring quality standards are met, and leading a team of skilled craftsmen.
Responsibilities:
1. Technical Expertise:
Utilize in-depth knowledge of wood veneer characteristics, species, and production techniques to enhance product quality, grade and allocate to orders.
Provide guidance on wood selection, cutting, and finishing processes to optimize veneer aesthetics.
2. Quality Assurance:
Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee the consistency and excellence of wood veneer sheets.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any potential issues in the production process.
3. Managerial Leadership:
Lead and motivate a team of skilled craftsmen, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment.
Oversee scheduling, production planning, and resource allocation to meet production targets and deadlines.
4. Innovation and Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the wood veneer production process.
Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and materials to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
5. Customer Collaboration:
Collaborate with the sales and design teams to understand client requirements and contribute expertise to the development of customized wood veneer solutions.
Act as a technical liaison with clients, providing expert advice and addressing any technical concerns.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Wood Technology, Forestry, or a related field is preferred
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in wood veneer production.
Proven managerial experience, demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
Strong knowledge of wood species, veneer cutting and splicing techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Adept at problem-solving and critical thinking.
Familiarity with industry trends, innovations, and sustainability practices.
