Purchasing Coordinator
Job Overview:
The Purchasing coordinator's primary responsibilities include insuring the smooth flow of the right products to retail stores. The Purchasing coordinator acts in a leadership role within the store and is also responsible to support the Store Manager.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 3 years experience in a purchasing role
Excellent communication (primariliy written) and leadership skills, and sound judgment.
Experience working with suppliers, tagging merchandise, conducting inventory and forecasting from historical sales data.
Job description:
The Purchasing coordinator is responsible for the flow of all product to the stores in accordance with overall company policy.
Typical work activities:
Typical work activities will vary, but may include:
managing stock levels and making recommendations about stock control;
using information technology to receive and tag inventory, data analysis and forward planning;
ensuring standards for quality and safety are met;
maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry
We would love to see your resume if you have 3-5 years of purchasing experience with in-depth knowledge of practices and procedures related to purchasing, budgeting and a total commitment to quality. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience in a business-related field is preferred. The Purchasing coordinator schedule will vary based on business needs, and will include some nights and weekends, but will rarely exceed 45-hours per week.
