Environmental Safety Technologies (EST) is an environmental microbiological laboratory providing clients around the world with analytical testing for some of today’s most important corrosion and pathogenic bacteria. For over 25 years, EST has provided our clients with rapid responses to environmental outbreaks, FDA-clearance testing, and risk analyses.
EST is looking for a Food Microbiologist at its facility in downtown Louisville, Kentucky.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
A BS or BA in the biological sciences or related field (required)
Proficiency with data entry and computer applications
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
Microbiologist duties include: analysis of food samples for pathogens via PCR and immunoassay, various microbe enumerations, data entry, laboratory reporting, quality control, media preparation, and other duties as assigned.
Training for this position will happen on the morning shift: Wednesday - Sunday. Thereafter, the position operates on the following shift on a rotating basis: the schedule for week 1 is Monday and Tuesday and Friday through Sunday, 7:00am to 7:00pm; the schedule for week 2 is Wednesday and Thursday, 7:00am to 7:00pm.
This is a full-time position and will be eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period.
