Hill Transportation, a family-oriented transportation company seeking an experienced and dependable Diesel Mechanic Supervisor to lead our 2nd shift maintenance team. This position is ideal for someone who’s ready to take charge of nightly operations, keep our fleet running efficiently, and isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.
Responsibilities:
Supervise second-shift diesel mechanics and coordinate workflow
Perform diagnostics and repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers
Respond to road calls and emergency breakdowns during your shift
Ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standards
Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
Coordinate repair timelines with dispatch and fleet management
Oversee parts inventory and ensure shop cleanliness and safety
Provide training and support to second-shift techs
Qualifications:
5+ years of diesel mechanic experience (fleet or trucking preferred)
Prior experience as a supervisor or lead tech strongly preferred
CDL-A preferred but not required
Skilled in electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and engine diagnostics
Able to handle emergency roadside repairs during shift
Dependable, safety-focused, and a strong communicator
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $60,000 per year
Quarterly Bonus: Up to $1,500 for safety and performance
Sign-On Bonus: $1,500 after 90 days of employment
