Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. A successful candidate for this position will be ready to enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. The Accounts Receivable Clerk must be a self-starter with high attention to detail, in order to handle 200+ invoices a week. This is a short-term contract to full time Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area.Your responsibilities in this role
Communicate information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
Execute a number of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks
Verify documents and codes
Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in various ledgers
Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers
Communicate, reinforce, and support the values, culture, and mission of the organization
Assist in setting up payment plans; contact clients to help resolve payment issues
Process payments and compile segments of annual reports and monthly closings in compliance with GAAP
Requirements
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
Efficient in ERP systems
Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel
Expertise in Posting Payments
Daily Cash Receipts experience highly desired
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience desired
Foundational knowledge in cash reconciliations
Proven analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field
2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
