Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.SUPERVISION EXERCISED:None.LOCATION OF WORK:In major state agencies with an on-going statewide construction, renovation, and maintenance program.JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from Facility Project Planner 2 by the degree of difficulty of assignments and amount of overall project responsibilities.Examples of WorkEXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.Assists in the design of major landscape architectural, architectural, and engineering projects such as recreational facilities, historic site interpretive centers, state parks, master plans, etc., including preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.Assists in the preparation of space allotment studies, functional and aesthetic design, and the layout/details of varied buildings and state park facilities.Assists in the preparation of environmental impact studies, which address environmental effects of the project location, slopes and grading, landscaping, temporary and permanent water and soil erosion measures and controls, visual impacts, etc. and the minimizing of harm to the environment.Assists in the review of existing and proposed recreational facilities, historic sites, and state preservation areas and the preparation of studies to determine needs and location for future recreational areas, state historic site information centers, multiple use areas, state parks, etc.Reviews plans prepared by others for conformance to acceptable landscape architectural and architectural designs as they relate to the project development within established standards and policies of the department.Assists in performing periodic surveys of existing facilities, from which suggestions are made to upgrade facilities to meet current and future demands.Responds to public complaints and/or requests to maintain an efficient and beneficial relationship between the public and the department.Louisiana State Government represents a wide variety of career options and offers an outstanding opportunity tomake a differencethrough public service.
